Marshall welcomed 18 students and 5 teachers from Colegio Rochester in Bogotá Colombia. The group arrived on October 1 and will stay through October 8. Our Colombian guests are excited to experience Marshall Homecoming, take in the beauty of fall in Minnesota, practice their English, and learn more about the United States culture and customs. We are excited to share all of this with them and even more so to learn more about the beautiful and unique country of Colombia. This coming June, many of the Marshall students hosting will travel to Colombia and stay with the students they hosted. We hope this week is the start of some long-lasting international friendships!

On Wednesday, September 13, we facilitated an important community conversation on the role and effect of digital technology on children and teens. Attended by over 350, the evening began with the showing of Screenagers, an award-winning documentary that "probes into the vulnerable corners of family life and depicts the messy struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction." The film was followed by a moderated conversation with Brandon Neblett, Upper School Principal, and associate professors from the Communications Department at UMD, Aaron Boyson and Ryan Goei.
