Dear Hilltopper Families,
We ask that you continue to stay in touch with the Health Center (healthcenter@marshallschool.org) if your child is experiencing COVID or flu-like symptoms, becomes a close contact of a COVID positive case, or tests positive for COVID. MDH requires us to track and report this information, even during distance learning. It also helps us to monitor the health of our community and weigh that into our decision making.
We will need to see a healthy Marshall community and lower COVID numbers in the greater Duluth community for us to return to any form of in-person learning. We all have a role in helping us get there.
DAILY SCHEDULE We will move to our distance learning daily schedule while all grade levels will be online. The school day will begin each day at 9:00 am and class periods on M/T/Th/F will be one hour in length with a 15 minute break between. Wednesday will be an all periods day with class starting times every 45 minutes.
Athletics and co-curricular activities will be put on hold while we are on distance learning. Groups may continue to meet virtually, but there will be no in-person gatherings.
Please email attendance@marshallschool.org if your child will not participate in online learning on a particular day. Attendance will be taken for each class period, and students are expected to be present online for classroom Zoom meetings and activities as indicated by their individual teachers.
In order to monitor the health of our Hilltopper community, families should continue to fill out the CrisisGo Check-in form so that we can continue to track symptoms, testing, and exposure while in distance learning.
Each year, the school publishes a student directory so Hilltopper families can connect with each other. The directory is intended for the sole use of connecting within the Hilltopper community. If you do not want your contact information (name, address, phone number and/or email) included in the directory, contact Rosemary Milczark at rmilczark@marshallschool.org by November 20, 2020.
Due to our pivot to distance learning, we will reschedule Picture Retake Day.
Grandparents & Grandfriends Day Have you registered your grandparents / grandfriends to receive the link for the first-ever virtual grandparents' day experience? Instead of the traditional program on campus, we have been working on a way to bring our grandparents into the classroom with a special behind the scenes video. We are asking our Hilltopper families to use the link below to fill out their grandparents' contact information by Wednesday, November 18th so they can receive this special video.
CONFIRMED CLOSE CONTACT OR POSITIVE COVID-19 TEST RESULT If your child has been exposed to COVID-19 or had a positive test result, immediately contact healthcenter@marshallschool.org.
