Dear Families,
SAFETY REMINDER WHEN DRIVING ON CAMPUS We have had one too many near misses when students and staff are crossing the top ramp. Please come to a complete stop at the two stop signs on the top ramp and remember to look for students and staff crossing the ramp. Additionally, please stay off your cellphones while driving. We do not want anyone to get injured because of careless or inattentive driving.
FROM THE HEALTH CENTER The Marshall Health Center's hours are 7:30 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday. All phone and email messages will be answered in order starting at 7:30 am until 3:00 pm.
Should I send my child to school? If in doubt: Because you know your child best, keep them home and monitor their symptoms. Students will be sent home if they present with the above symptoms and may be directed to quarantine.
MDH HOME SCREENING TOOL The Minnesota Department of Health has released a new screening tool to use with your children at home when deciding to send your child to school. The Home Screening Tool for COVID-19 is a decision tree with defined responses related to sending your child to school or keeping them home. We will align the CrisisGo Family Health Check with this decision tree.
BUSSING Bussing begins on Monday, September 21, for students who signed up for bussing earlier this school year. Pick up and drop off information was sent home with your child on Friday. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Snyder at ksnyder@marshallschool.org. As a safety reminder, the busses have the right-of-way on the top ramp.
We designed this year's calendar with flexibility and sustainability as two of our guiding principles. We wanted a calendar that would allow us to be responsive to the health of our community, both physically and mentally. We are watching the virus numbers closely and doing our best to keep our fingers on the pulse on the well-being of our students and teachers. Plans for our first flex week will be announced by Wednesday, September 23.
We have updated the CrisisGo daily health screening questions. Please read through the new questions carefully before answering and submitting. This daily screening is an important part of our health screening and attendance processes. It helps support the health of our entire community.
We are pleased to announce that we have hired a new Band Director. Mr. Matt Wasmund '03 will join us as the Band Director for the Upper School and Middle School Bands. Mr. Wasmund is an accomplished musician, and his teaching experience includes directing the Duluth East Jazz Band and teaching private lessons at Great Northern Music and Hamline Music Academy. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Wasmund!
