Computer Science Honors Independent Study
Course Description:
Part I:
During the first half of the Semester, students will perform research and structured activities to build upon their basic knowledge and proficiency in their chosen topic.
Part II:
The second half of the semester focuses on 'real life' applications through Project and Community Service work. The students will further develop their skills in their chosen topic by designing, applying, and completing an in-depth research-based project.
Evaluation
- Observation of Progress
- A Weekly Journal (for community service hours)
- Weekly Goals
- Fulfillment of Individual Project Contract
- 5-10 page Research Paper (due at end of 1st quarter of class)
- 5-10 page Project Report (due at end of 2nd quarter of class)
- End of Semester Project Presentation
