This course is designed to help students become familiar with the historic and projected roles of computers in society, and learn how to employ current computer applications in their everyday lives. When completed, students will have learned basic hardware/software installation, maintenance and troubleshooting skills; spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications; and, information retrieval and management via web-based scholarly and professional publication databases, websites, and search engines. In addition, students will have learned the fundamentals of HTML, and JAVA Script.
