In keeping with our mission of fostering a sense of global citizenship, Marshall is committed to including international students as part of our student body. Marshall regularly enrolls over 20 international students from countries around the world, who enroll with the intent to graduate with a Marshall diploma and attend an American college or university.
Marshall is not a boarding school, but rather places each international student with a local host family, often times a family with students already attending Marshall.
Enrolling as an International Student
Marshall is able to accept students who have procured a one year exchange J-1 visa through an established exchange organization, as well as long term international students (F-1) who intend to graduate from Marshall and attend college in the United States. Marshall is approved by SEVIS to issue the I-20 document necessary to obtain the F-1 visa for both the summer and academic year program.
It is important that students and families are familiar with the courses and grades required by their affiliated programs and home schools while studying in the United States. In some cases, there may be course requirements related to attaining and maintaining a J-1 or F-1 visa.
